SUBMISSION PROCESS

This year our initial submission process is entirely web-based. Follow the steps below to upload your video to our secure platform. You will need to register, but don't worry - we won't share your details with any third parties.

Once uploaded we will store your original file safely on our servers. We will encode a high quality web preview which you will be able to review before committing it to our judging panel. The judging panel will watch this web preview so please check it for issues. If the web preview is faulty in any way then check your uploaded file first on a friend's computer, try a different compression and upload again.

SUBMISSION RULES

The COFILMIC Comedy Film Festival will take place at the Comedy Store Manchester on 29th and 30th October 2012. It will be a unique mix of comedy films, incorporating filmed sketches and sit-com pilots in addition to live stand up performances.

Submission Deadline

Submissions will be accepted between 12 midday on 14th May 2012 and 12 midday on 7th September 2012 (all times are UK summer time).

Shooting formats, and Content Upload

We recommend that you shoot in Full 1920x1080 HD and don't use a resolution below 1280x720. Our preferred format is:

Frame rate: 25fps
Audio: Stereo, 48k, 16bit
Filesize: Below 500Mb
Encoding: Quicktime h.264

All videos must be uploaded electronically via the upload link on this page - we do not accept DVD's or film. Winners may be asked to supply a high-quality, uncompressed version of their video - we will contact you about this after selection has been made. For the initial upload period we accept nearly all digital video formats. We do not accept:

HDV 720p60
ProRes 4444
Go2Meeting3 (G2M3)
ER AAC LD (Error Resiliant, Low-Delay variant of AAC)
